I Have A Mentor!

I have amazing news: I officially have a mentor! I am so excited because I asked Dave Vallone, my very first informational interview and my first professional connection on Linkedin, if he would be interested in mentoring me just this past Thursday! He responded saying that he would enjoy doing the mentoring, and we began discussing dates and things like that. I only have to complete about two more steps in order to secure my mentorship, but other than that, I am all ready to go! I cannot explain how happy I am about having Mr. Vallone as my mentor. He has so much experience in the Animation industry, and I really enjoyed talking to him during our interview. I also love the studio, ReelFx, and the environment it has!

I’m feeling very organized in ISM right now, as well. All of my interview assessments are complete, and I only have to write three more research assessments. I recently submitted a research assessment about the stages of the animated film pipeline, and I have become more interested in lighting and cloth simulation. I might go into that further with some more research, but all in all, I can’t wait to go on my first mentor visit, hopefully sometime in the next two weeks!
