The Business Symposium

This week in ISM was extremely eventful in the best way. On Wednesday, we attended the FISD Business Symposium, where we got to meet with professionals of all different fields and expand our networks by comparing our fields of study/work. I particularly enjoyed being able to explain my interest, Animation, to professionals that specialize in technology-based careers, as well as positions in medicine and event planning. The men and women I met with seemed genuinely intrigued by my passion and excitement, which made me even more excited. The event was also amazing because I came out of it more confident in my knowledge of Animation and my ability to professionally converse with individuals.

In addition to the symposium, I have officially completed five face-to-face interviews, which means that I will soon meet with Coach Goff to talk about choosing a mentor! I have someone in mind already, but I will not make a final decision about contacting a possible mentor until after I have spoken with Coach Goff. I also have another interview that I am currently in the process of scheduling, but I’m going to use it as a purely informational interview. I plan on contacting my possible mentor by this Friday, so we’ll see how it turns out in next week’s blog!
